Writing & Biography
Ellen Sousa is a lifelong gardener, tending her gardens in Massachusetts and Hampshire, England. A former technical writer, she now writes about two of her most passionate subjects, horses and gardening, for magazines such as Massachusetts Wildlife, Birds & Blooms Extra and BackHome.

Ellen holds a BA in English from Clark University (1989), and has studied at Sussex University. In 2008 she will complete New England Wild Flower Society's Certificate Program in Native Plant Horticulture & Design. She is certified as a Wildlife Habitat Naturalist (CWHN) and a National Master Naturalist (NMN) by Windstar Wildlife Institute.
